Amanbagh Pool Pavilion Amanbagh Pool Pavilion

A desert oasis in the rugged state of Rajasthan, Amanbagh lies in a verdant garden of mature palm, fruit and eucalyptus trees. Set within a walled compound that was once the staging area for the Maharajah of Alwar’s royal hunts, Amanbagh evokes the palatial grandeur of the Moghul Era, providing a tranquil refuge from which to explore the rich heritage of Rajasthan’s dramatic frontier region. Featuring a swimming pool and spa within the grounds, Amanbagh also offers excursions into the surrounding Aravalli Hills including private picnics in marble gorges, camel and horse safaris, visits to splendid forts and ruins and cultural experiences in picturesque rural villages.

Explore the wilderness of Rajasthan at Aman-i-Khás

The tented camp of Aman-i-Khás lies in the heart of Rajasthan’s starkly beautiful wilds, on the outskirts of Ranthambore National Park. Spend your early mornings and late afternoons exploring the park in open-top vehicles in search of India’s elusive tigers and other wildlife such as chital deer and marsh crocodiles. Pass the rest of your day relaxing by the traditional stepwell (pool), within the spa tent, dining tent or lounge tent, or exploring the region further afield. As dusk falls, savour a rustic Rajasthani thali featuring fresh produce from the resort’s organic gardens, then toast the stars with your nightcap around the bonfire before retiring to your own tent.

Amn-i-Khais – The Camp
A luxury tented wilderness camp set on the edge of Ranthambhore National Park, Aman-i-Khais echoes the rich Moghul travelling tents of another era. A large fireplace acts as the Camp’s informal lounge and dining area with cushioned seating for nightly log fires and pre-and post-excursion gatherings. Camp facilities include a traditionally-inspired ‘step-well’ for refreshing dips and sunning. A Dining Tent serves Indian and Western cuisine with fresh produce from the Camp’s organic garden; a Lounge Tent provides books on the Park and Rajasthan’s culture and a Spa Tent offers massages, scrubs and traditional henna art.

Amanbagh – The Oasis
A sanctuary that is also a gateway, Amanbagh is inextricably linked to Rajasthan’s remarkable heritage and extraordinary rural landscape.

Amanbagh Pool Amanbagh Pool

Set in a verdant oasis of mature palm, eucalyptus and fruit trees sited at the head of a gorge which opens out to a large valley, Amanbagh is a contemporary retreat paying elegant homage to the architecture and design of India’s golden age. Evoking the palatial grandeur of the Moghul era in its domed cupolas and inner courtyards, the use of pink marble and sandstone recalls the palatial haveli mansions then favoured by nobility.

Amanbagh provides 24 garden, terrace and courtyard haveli suites and 16 pool pavilions. The Restaurant provides an intimate atmosphere beneath a soaring double height ceiling, serving home-style Indian cuisine and Western dishes prepared with fresh produce from the organic garden. The Library’s terrace is also ideal for informal dining in the evening and refreshments can be enjoyed in the Bar and Lounge or with a sweeping view of the landscape from the Roof Terrace. Trained therapists provide traditional spa treatments, as well as healing therapies, including Royal spa treatments with applications of jasmine and rose oil. Nearby activities include trekking, boating, horse riding, camel safaris, bird watching, cultural tours by jeep to traditional villages and historic forts, temples and Moghul ruins scattered throughout the surrounding hills and valleys.
